Kung Hei Fat Choy!!
This year we had planned to go to the Chinese Cultural Center for a two day festival. Due to yucky weather and not wanting to get sick before surgery, plans changed. We sent our Chinese New Year cards, ate chinese food, decorated our house and read lots of books on Chinese New Year. Red envelopes will be involved too.
On Saturday, we had a family day. All of us hung out together. We went to our local chinese restaraunt. The owner tried to teach Julia how to say "Kung Hei Fat Choy!!" It was so cute. Then, we walked around the mall for two hours. Julia got a pair of new patent leather mary janes and a new purse. She just loves purses. She had to pick one out of two that she carried around. We also toured the American Girl store. That was fun!
On Sunday, Julia stayed home. She was showing signs of a cold. Did not want to take any chances. We have a busy week ahead of us before surgery on the 30th. Hopefully, next year we will make the Festival. Our Families of Chinese Children's event is 2/4. That is the Satuday after surgery. Won't make that either. These events will make next year just that much more fun!!
Happy Chinese New Year!!

Love Julia's pictures and the dress is perfect. Sounds like you've had a great "Happy Chinese New Year" weekend. Hope that Julia stays healthy this week. You guys are on my prayer list.
Happy New Year!! She is pretty as a princess in her dress and little umbrella. That smile is so beautiful it brightened up our sunshine-less day here! I am praying she will stay healthy before the surgery!
As always, your blog just makes our hearts smile. Julia has been in our prayers - and will continue to be - with her surgery and recovery. We just love you guys.
P.S. - I'll have to tell you our AAAPIA story next time I see you at Church Nursery. Our Caseworker was Donna.
