Decorating for Christmas

Excitement is in the air!!  We are getting ready for a family trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN for Thanksgiving.  We wanted to be ready for Christmas when we got home.  Julia has been learning about Christmas through stories, books and Classic Christmas videos.  We tell her the story of baby Jesus.  We also explain Santa.  She just wants us to read and read the stories.

This year decorating was so different.  For five years, we have been waiting for Julia.  It was so fun to show her things that were given to her throughout the years.  Aunt and Unc had given her a stocking with her name on it.  Goggy and Pappy gave her the ornament music ball last year.  She is fascinated by it.  Julia just stares as the skaters go in circles and the colors change.  She will stand in front of it and pop her hips back and forth to the music.

We showed her the ornaments that were bought for her through the years.  This one says "Waiting for Julia-Christmas 2007".
This beautiful ornament says "Julia-In our Hearts.  Christmas 2008"
This ormanement has a Panda on it.  It says "Waiting for Julia-2009".
We had bought this nativity for her years ago.  It was so awesome to be able to pull it out of the box.
She loves it.  She wants all the Little People to be able to stand on the manger where the angel stands.  We keep telling her the story of baby Jesus.  She just listens in awe.
Can you tell that she can feel the flash on the camera.  She wonders about the donkey.
We definitely did not want Thanksgiving to get lost.  We have so much to be thankful for this year.   A little coloring of pilgrims and indians are always fun.

This season will be like no other for us. God is so faithful!!
